In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d depart from my typical blog faire and make a list of the many things I love. I invite you to do the same. Now when I say “things that we love” I don’t mean diamond rings, fast cars and fur coats. I mean the non-materialistic things that we love on a deeper level. Here goes:
– bouganvilla growing in clumps
– the smell of coffee and bacon
– steam rising off the swimming pool at dawn
– dark organic chocolate
– popcorn smothered with butter (to be eaten at the movies)
– sitting on a surf board like it’s a horse while taking in the vast beauty of H20, cliffs & sunlight
– the feel of my body as it moves and breathes and dances
– when my two cats both sit in my lap while I’m reading
– the smell of babies
– being held in someone’s arms
– being tickled
– the incredible quiet when snow softly falls
– Journey community church
– God
– The bible
– dear friends
– libraries and books!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
– The Big Sur
– My grandmother’s house
– the house I grew up in
– losing myself while writing
– steak
– the feel of sun on my face
– napping on Sunday afternoons and watching football
– having a glass of wine in airports while writing and waiting to board a plane
– window seats
– Nancy Drew books
– my best friend
– the people who I can be 100% myself with and still be loved
– freedom
– classical music
– NYC
– laughing so hard I snort
– learning to read Greek at age 40
I was a big Hardy Boys fan myself. Great list!
